Adam and Joe: What Does This Mean?

I love Adam and Joe. I frankly don't think I'd be the man I am today without Cornballs and Bucules. I grew up watching Shock Video and the Adam and Joe Show whenever I was probably far too young, and I was sad whenever their show finished. Then I rejoiced when specials like Go Tokyo and Fourmative Years came on. Then I was sad when there was no Adam and Joe on TV at all.

Then there was the XFM radio show and it was great, then there was the 6Music show and it was GREAT. Like, the best thing that ever happened ever, ever type great. I looked forward to it every week, and listened to the podcasts over and over again. I still am in fact, I've no radio in my car at the minute, so whenever I'm going on a journey that's longer than 15 minutes I'll pop my phone on the dashboard and play old A&J podcasts as loud as its wee speaker can muster. I know them all pretty much word for word now and they still make me laugh.

Without sounding like too much of a massive soppy wabbo, that 6 music show helped me get through some times that weren't the funnest of times, and it helped make some of the funnest of times even funner. So I was super duper sad about this time last year whenever the pair announced that they were on hiatus for the forseeable future, but would return.

I've kept my peepers scouring the internetz for any clue of when they might return to the airwaves. A while back on his blog, Buckles made some reference to the show coming back in November. Oh baby! Well, it's November now (nearly December), and still no sign of return. Well until a couple of days ago when this video was posted on their 6music site:

Holy smokes! Adam and Joe back for Christmas Day? What a great present! Lorra lorra! But hang on... what were those subtleties thrown in there.... 'for one last time' ?!? What?? Is this just a one off? One last goodbye?

Oh please, say it ain't so.

I know the only reason that they wouldn't be back doing a weekly show is that they're both busy with their own wonderful brilliant things, and that's fantastic. But I'm really a very selfish man.
